Hellas Environment ensures, in collaboration with the Industry and Local Authorities, the operation, maintenance and control of the electrical installations:

  1. Operation and maintenance of electrical facilities:
  • Electrical installation of indoor lighting with movement control
  • Installation of lightning rods and grounding systems
  • Installation of medium and low voltage electrical panel and substations – Power generating sets
  • Maintenance of electromechanical facilities
  • External lightning
  • Installation, repair and maintenance of fire detection systems
  • Repair of electrical facilities

Electrical facilities 

An electrical installation may set fire or electric shock risks. For this reason, the following protective measures are taken for the safe operation and maintenance according to the national legislation:

  • The electrical installation initially is checked by the electrician installer and re-tested using a checking protocol and suitable equipment.
  • The retest frequency of the electrical installation is set by the legislation and it depends on the use of the workspace (a workspace without combustible materials should be checked every seven years).
  • The Control Protocol along with the declaration of the electrician installer get delivered to the electric power distribution company (PPC S.A.). The owner should keep a copy too.
  • Every electric panel and subpanel, during its maintenance, is checked for the presence of relay 30mA.
  • Every electric panel and subpanel, during its maintenance, is checked if it has a lid, in order to get closed and locked.
  • The lids of electrical panels should have a warning hazard marking (lightning).
  • The switchboard is proposed to have a drawing of the switches matched with the electrical circuits.
  • The access to the electrical panels should be easy accessed.
  • The presence of exposed cables in the floor and walls should be avoided.
  • It’s recommended the electric cables to be placed into channels in order to be protected from mechanical stresses.
  • The repair or extension of cables using insulating tape is forbidden.
  • Sockets with wear signs should not be used (ex. broken lids, caps).
  • Any intervention or maintenance on the electrical installation is carried out by technical personnel having the relevant permission.

    • Water treatment and water supply units
    • Sewerage (rainwater, wastewater)
    • Installation of sanitary ware and spouts
    • Firefighting systems installation- Portable fire extinguisher
    • Compressed-air installations
    • External Networks maintenance
    • Boiler rooms maintenance

    The monitoring and control of the facilities are performed by qualified technical staff and they are continuous and 24h/day and, in case of malfunction, the intervention is immediate to ensure the uninterrupted electricity and water supply.
